KFFL Administration KFFL is administered as a cost center through the office of the Vice President of Research (VPR) at the University of Oklahoma. The Director of KFFL is an appointed position, with Dr. Linda Wallace currently filling that role, answering directly to the VPR. The VPR and the Deans of the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Atmospheric and Geographic Sciences support this position. The facilities manager answers to the Director. Assisting the Director in decision making and planning is the KFFL executive committee, consisting of one representative of each unit that currently uses the facility. This committee, which meets monthly, currently consists of voting members from the following units: Architecture, Botany/Microbiology, Geography, Interdisciplinary Perspectives on the Environment, Meteorology, Oklahoma Climatological Survey, the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History (SNOMNH) and Zoology. Ex officio members include the director of the University of Oklahoma Biological Station, the director of the Biological Survey, the director of SNOMNH, a representative from the VPR’s office, Dr. Kessler, and the chairs of the academic units using the facility. Ex officio members may attend the monthly meetings if they wish, and are constantly apprised of the committee’s activities. The Director acts as chair of the executive committee and is assisted in running the committee by a Vice Chair. |
